Does a diamond ring’s carat weight include ALL the diamonds on the ring or just the central stone?
I have a 10% iridium platinum ring with a central stone, two smaller side stones and several much smaller stones down the band. Will the carat weight include all the stones combined, or only the biggest? And will anyone venture a guess as to it’s worth? I’d say the central stone is about 3.5 or 4cm, the two side stones are about 2cm and each small one on the band is approx 1cm.

Well usually when you purchase the ring, they will tell you the weight of the center stone, and the total. It is not only the size that affects the price of a ring, but the clairty and color, and even the cut.
The carat weight is usually listed as “total carat weight”, and it includes and sums the carat weight of all stones in the ring. Usually for such rings, the jewelers will provide in depth info on what the carat weight refers to.
And of course, it is not only the size that matters. The quality of the cuts of the diamonds (center stone especially) is what has the biggest effect on the price. Color and clarity also have a big impact.
